Abstract

The current business reality is characterized by strong processes of change driven by technological development, the intensification of competition and the concentration and globalization of companies, among other factors. In this context, change management has become one of the main challenges for large companies due to its impact on business sustainability and the difficulty posed by the size and complexity of this type of organization. The literature has approached this problem from different perspectives, but there is consensus on the need to deepen our knowledge of the subject. This Doctoral Thesis focuses on explaining the role of managers in the transformation processes of large companies, proposing a model based on Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behavior (1991) that identifies the main variables determining the intention to change with a high descriptive ability.
