Abstract

The educational innovation project FLUID-IBL aims to achieve significant situated learning through the instructional laboratories of the subjects in the area of Fluid Mechanics of the bachelor and master studies in industrial engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of Bilbao. This project develops a structured strategy to solve the deficiencies affecting the teaching-learning process in the practical tasks of the instructional laboratory and to succeed in achieving the expected learning outcomes by the students. These learning outcomes entail different competential dimensions containing cooperative work, arguing, oral and written communication skills, together with the scientific and technical knowledge. This piece of work analyses the difficulties encountered and the main intervening guidelines proposed to solve them.
