Abstract

The Oviedo Bioethics Convention was approved twenty years ago. At that time, it was a milestone in the construction of a shared model of regulation on biomedicine. Its existence has allowed progress in the defense of fundamental rights during all this time. However, today it is increasingly evident that it requires some adjustments. In this text we will propose suggestions aimed at improving the regulation of organ donation or the alteration of DNA produced by new forms of genetic engineering. Likewise, we will advocate a clearer wording of the clauses referring to the selection of sex or the effectiveness of the expressions of will included in the Previous Instructions. Finally, we will allow us to request the implementation of control mechanisms for your application that improve the current situation.
