I am a Mexican professional in Archaeology and Archaeometry, specializing in the study of ancient technologies, particularly the characterization of ceramics recovered from terrestrial and underwater archaeological sites related to the Iberian expansion in the Americas (15th–17th centuries). Through minimally destructive and non-destructive techniques, my research explores cultural contact processes and the technical transformations that shaped new historical narratives about the encounter between the Old and New Worlds. A graduate of the National School of Anthropology and History (ENAH) in Mexico, I have participated in serveral national and international projects. I am an active member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNI) and other scientific institutions. Additionally, I have completed specialized courses in archaeology, analytical techniques, and at the Nuclear Safety Council. Currently, I collaborate on multidisciplinary European projects in Historical Archaeology, Post-Medieval Archaeology, and Archaeometry. I am a member of the GPAC Research Group at UPV/EHU and have contributed to more than 26 international projects, notably serving as a María Zambrano Distinguished Researcher, funded by Next Generation EU. My collaborations span countries such as Spain, Mexico, the United States, France, Italy, Portugal, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Cape Verde. I am also affiliated with professional societies, including the Society for Historical Archaeology, the Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology, and SAPac.
