Urtzi Ayesta is a CNRS Director of Research working at IRIT, Toulouse, and an IKERBASQUE Research Professor in the Computer Science Faculty at the University of the Basque Country. He received a PhD degree from Université de Nice-Sophia Antipolis (2004), a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University (2001) and a BS/MS degree in Telecomunication Engineering from Nafarroako Unibertsitate Publikoa-Universidad Publica de Navarra (2000). He has previously worked at CWI (the Netherlands, ERCIM Fellowship), INRIA Sophia-Antipolis and France Telecom R&D. His main research interests include stochastic processes, control theory, reinforcement learning and their applications to the design of computing systems and networking.
