Abstract

In this present article we are going to deal with the intervention in conflicts through family mediation processes. In the last two decades, mediation has been developed not only in out of court processes but also in court ones, which could take place before legal proceedings or after judicial resolution. The wide range of family conflicts and the relational feature of these conflicts require a psycho-social approach, where direct communication is the key, as the mediation process offers. The professional mediator will also be analyzed, their characteristics and all that is necessary to understand their performance in a practice of mediation processes in order to achieve adaptive answers to the diversity of conflicts and family relation models that are common in our nowadays society.
