Abstract
DTM is a disease of a stomatognathic system of an unknown and multifactorial etiology whose signs and symptoms are: pain, lack of functional muscular adaptation and/or non-physiological occlusion. The treatment must be multifactorial in order to achieve an occlusion that works well although it does not necessarily have to be perfect; phonation without constraints; comfort and aesthetics enhancing the patient's self-esteem as well as an occlusion and supporting structures that do not produce a pathology based on the difficulty of predicting individual responses.
