Abstract

Having as the main concern the articulation between domestic and family life and social life in general, the article dwels in the consideration of the dichotomy production/reproduction seen as a cultural construct rather than as an empirical reality. The realm of care appears as a central issue because it is closely attributed to women but care is also related to political domains. Taking into consideration data embrazing the year 2020, consequences of the following areas are examined as they would affect men but especially women. Those areas considered are: demographic decrease, process of getting old, the en trance of women in to the labour market, the increasing diversification of gender identities. As a result of the analysis seven proposals are introduced. The theoretical and methodological framework arise from the feminist critique. Key Words: production/reproduction, care, public politics, associationism, feminist critique.
