Abstract

In this research we have dealt whith the world of Death through the study of mentalities. lt is an attempt to approach to the colective thought of a tragic and unavoidable fact that concerns all social groups. The town Andoain has been chosen as the spacial frame, and 1600-1759 as the chronological frame, year when the old church of San Martin of Buruntza -nowadays in digging process- is abandoned. With this study we pretend to show their ancestors behaviour concerning Death to the XXIst. century people of Andoain.
