Abstract

The migration of unaccompanied young foreigners facing society and themselves at scenarios of uncertainty and psychological fragility putting them at risk of neglect and can cause processes of marginalization and social frustration. Therefore the principal aim of this paper is to analyze the psychosocial profile of unaccompanied migrant children in residential institutions and unaccompanied young migrant who are in flats emancipation in the Basque Country; measure the level of life satisfaction, resilience, perceived social support and optimism in a sample of 100 young unaccompanied migrant: 50 children in shelters and 50 young people in emancipation flats. The psychosocial profile reveals a population that has difficulty integrating into the labor market, for reasons such as: legal-administrative spanish situation, poor preparation, and economic-social situation. There have been significant differences in what you have to do with life satisfaction and optimism, being unaccompanied migrant children happier and more optimistic than unaccompanied young migrant who are in flats emancipation.
