Abstract

The present study is part of the Integral Recovery Plan of the Salty Valley of Añana, municipality sited on the western side of the territory of Alava. The study deals with the phsyco-chemical characterization of the salty water springs, from which table salt is being obtained for centuries. Seven sampling points have been selected, and proper analysis methods have been chosen, to minimize detected interferences. Selected parameters have been Temperature, pH, Volume, Conductivity, Turbidity, Density, Total Solids, Inorganic Solids, Alcalnity, Hardness, Chloride, Sulphates, Nitrates, Nitrites, Phosphates, Dissolved Oxygen, Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium and Metals (Cupper, Zinc, Lead, Manganese, Iron, Nickel and Cobalt). Results have been related with meteorologyc data. Finally, possible applications have been proposed, considering composition results.
