Abstract

And important step in the design of a new product or production process consists on finding out the impact this process’ life cycle will have on the environment. In order to minimize the impact and make the process viable from the environmental point of view. One of the methods used to evaluate this impact is the creation of “ecoindicators”. In this project we have developed a “ecoindicator” for the biofiltration of H2S and CS2, by using the computation method ecoindicator 99/HH. for this purpose. The value reached by the ecoindicator is - 20.3 mPt, which means that the biofiltration process of H2S and CS2 does not only show any negative impact on the environment, but we found that it is positive from the environmental point of view.
