Abstract
Enclosed in a small territorial area, the Township of Bilbao fought to expand at the expense of the neighboring parishes over the course of the nineteenth century. Although this is a familiar question, the long dispute between the different sides will be analyzed in the light of extensive unpublished documentation that has been consulted, explaining the most significant moments and the results achieved.
