Abstract
In this article an analysis is made on how Basque achieves a L2 character because of the fact that most students who know Basque are bilingual. Next, the role played by the discursive and textual perspective of language in Basque teaching is briefly exposed. Two didactic experiences inspired by Bronckart�s discoursive model are being carried out in a school centre (Ikastola Txingudi) and in a public institution (Instituto Vasco de Administración Pública) are presented. From our point of view, the globality with which both didactic experiences are approached, is a reflection of the underlying socio-communicative approach of language and they would not possible from a formal and traditional perspective of language.
