Abstract

Luis Tolosa stands out not only by his architectural works, but also by his graphical production. He was the author of some of the most important industrial buildings in Gipuzkoa (Spain) between 1930 and 1950. However, his role as draftsman is probably more important, given that he wisely managed to combine several graphic techniques to adapt them to the specific objectives of their drawings. Besides, he created several perspectives in which he demonstrated a great mastery of the point of view and the perspective’s framing, with a great interest on the geographical context of the buildings. The objective of this paper is to analyze his graphical work and to identify its main features. For this, their drawings have been studied and related with the images that appear in the journals that Luis Tolosa used to read. With this research we aim to underline his role as an excellent draftsman.
