Resumen

The different kinds of electrical power generators that might be used to feed power into a hybrid power system (HPS) can be connected to the load in several different ways. One important development is an electrical system in which the renewable sources feed a common DC-link while the load is fed by an inverter in parallel with a diesel generator. One advantage is that the system is very flexible. The diesel generator and the inverter can operate in stand-alone or parallel mode and an amount of the power feeds directly the load without losses. This paper presents an analysis of the behaviour of an HPS affected by the variability of the renewable resources and of the load using a dynamic simulation model. The model is based on two types of renewable power generation: wind turbine generator and photovoltaic generator, connected to an isolated grid constituted by a diesel generator. The interconnection of the renewable sources with the diesel generator is carried out by a DC-link and an inverter. The analysis focuses on the DC-link and AC bus. Two topologies of the system are investigated: with and without storage.
