Resumen

In this work, we present an educational strategy whose main purpose is to present and explore the creation of observational models in the context of a degree in Physics and related fields. This proposal relies on project-based active learning strategies, assumes the distributed character of cognitive processes and incorporates some transversal aspects of social relevance. The topics that articulate this work's development are based on the use of data mining techniques with a wide range of applications, whose ubiquity makes them especially significant. The acquisition of knowledge from an exoplanet catalog is used as motivation, proposing the categorization of these objects through the development of algorithms based on automated learning techniques of both an unsupervised and supervised nature. In conclusion we find that the educational strategy is feasible, and accessible and flexible enough to be recreated in different educational settings, and that it contributes to promote the development of skills required in academic training processes and in the world of work.
