Resumen

In this work, sediments deposited during the late Holocene in several high mountain of the Aragonese Pyrenees are characteri- zed sedimentologically and geochemically, from west to east: Acherito, La Sierra, Sabocos, Marboré, Urdiceto and Cregueña, all of them between 1870 and 2630 masl, and located in basins with different geology, siliceous (Vicente de Vera, 2017; Sociats, 2018) and carbonated (Leunda, 2019). The sedimentary facies have been characterized through a multidisciplinary analysis including sedimentological techniques (granulometry, textures, color, composition, and thin sections), elementary geochemis- try (ICP) and XRF scanner of gravity cores recovered in the deepest areas of the lake. Sedimentation rates and age models have been obtained using 210 Pb, 137Cs and 14C. Facies analysis allows the reconstruction of the evolution of sediment transport processes from the basin and production of organic matter in the lake during the last 2000 years. The sedimentary sequences show changes associated with climatic periods and human activity (mining, hydroelectric exploitation).
