Abstract

Plato's dialogues can be interpreted from a perspectivist stance. By perspectivism we mean the position that defends that each Platonic dialogue constitutes a particular and limited perspective of the truth about the issue addressed, which is conditioned by the material and formal elements that make up the context of the dialogue. The perspectivist reading assumes that each discourse of Socrates and the rest of the characters deals with one aspect of truth, without claiming to deal with the whole truth or to reachcomplete and definitive conclusions. Perspectivism does not deny, likewise, the existence of a truth for each question raised and dealt with in the dialogues, but assumes that for each question there are different partial approaches.
