Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between the Basque language and the nationalist vote, in the 2016 elections to the Basque Parliament. To quantify the relationship between the knowledge, transmission and use of the Basque language and the support received by nationalist parties in a village, I have prioritized its ecological analysis and used aggregate data. Thus far, it has been proven that as the percentage of Basque language’s knowledge, transmission and use goes up, the tendency to vote for Basque nationalist parties also increases.
