Abstract

Even though organizational cultures are gendered (Acker, 1990), the situations are variable depending on the organization and activity sector (Britton, 2000). At the profession of engineering, socially constructed as a masculine job (Frehill, 2004), engineer’s career trajectory are gendered (Marry, 2004). In that study there have been done ten semi-structured interviews with engineers. The main goal is know if to participate in the same professional culture brings to share same gendered characteristics. The findings show, which are gendered organizational dimensions (Rutherford, 2001), and the similarities gendered characteristic between organizations' cultures lead to think that was characteristics shared by the professional culture.
