In this study I have looked at gender sozialization and language, related to the use of Basque language among young people. On the basis of linguistic anthropology, feminist anthropology and the ethnography of childhood and adolescence, I have conducted a short research with adolescents (12 to16 years old) from Lezo and Pasai Donibane (Gipuzkoa). In the end, I can bring the following conclusions. On the one hand, there is a difference in the use of the Basque language among the adolescents of the mentioned towns: girls tend to speak more in Basque than boys. On the other hand, there are also significant differences in the way girls and boys use the language and approach to it. In short, after using a gender perspective for the analysis of linguistic practices, the ethnographic research shows some inequalities between men and women.
