Abstract
In this work an urban geosite tour through the city of Bilbao (Biscay, N Spain) has been presented in which numerous selected sections (transverse, longitudinal, equatorial, oblique, etc.) of the fossil content preserved in the ornamental stones from the most touristic areas of the city have been selected. The best examples of a wide variety of fossil organisms (algae, foraminifera, sponges, corals, mollusks and echinoderms) have been chosen, performing a complete morphological description as possible of each, always keeping the highest paleontological rigor and some of the educational criteria appropriate to the recipient audience. This urban geosite tour is intended to be used as a tool of paleontological divulgation to complement the theoretical basis used by teachers of secondary school, high school and the first university courses, and is presented as an educational resource that can be used as a model for other cities of the Iberian Peninsula.
