Resumen
This paper summarizes the major vertebrate fossil sites of the Cretaceous, Paleogene and Neogene from the Western Pyrenees, including those that are already included as Points of Geological Interest (LIG) of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) and others, located in the CAV, Navarre, Castilla y Leon, and Aragon, which are also remarkable because they exhibit similar geological and palaeontological features and could be object of Geoconservation initiatives. The studied outcrops highlight the large archive of vertebrate palaeobiodiversity that exists in the Western Pyrenees, which also have a high scientific and socio-cultural value, and are renowned internationally.
