Abstract

In this research, we have carried out a graphical study of the human emotional gesture, as a biological, artistic and expressive phenomenon, identifying basic human emotions, (surprise, fear, disgust, contempt, anger, happiness and sadness) and its derivatives, through the anatomical analysis of their muscle movements and the morphological characteristic alterations, divided into face areas. Furthermore, we have obtained mixed expressions by using morphing interpolation, categorising them together with those which are simulated, masked and controlled; all of them are illustrated with different artistic forms, from the pre-classic periods up to the XXI century.
