Sustainable development goals

Abstract

Higher Education facilitates the acquisition of competences on sustainability. Service Learning seems to be an innovative pedagogical proposal appropriate for this. In this work we analyse the content of the life stories of the six students who made the Final Degree Project based on service learning. These students were in charge of designing and implementing a service in response to a real demand from the Ramón Bajo educational centre: the exclusion of specifying children in midday extracurricular activities. The results show that the developed service learning favours three competences on sustainability: the critical contextualization of knowledge, competence in participation in community processes and competence in the application of ethical principles.
