Abstract

The following analysis were performed in teeth from Los Canes cave: radiocarbon datation, 87Sr/86Sr strontium isotopes in dental enamel, and incremental dentine analysis of the �15N y �13C isotopical ratios. The radiocarbon datation showed that mosto f the individuals were from the Mesolithic period as well as the Bronze Age (Intermediate and Final), as well as only one magdalenian individual, all of them locals to the surroundings of the cave. The results of the incremental dentine analysis of �15N y �13C ratios showed three types of diet: the first one based on marine resources only in the magdalenian individual, A second one based on C3 terrestrial resources during the Mesolithic and the Intermediate Bronce Age, and a third one during the Late Bronze Age also based on terrestrial resources where the introduction of new C4 resources happened among the population. In adittion, the study of the dentine sequences allowed to analyse the diet of the individuals during the childhooh, providing further information about weaning patterns as well as stress moments in those years.
