Abstract

Among the mayor issues in Urban Sociology, the concept of Residential Differentiation has been developed as an aspect of the broader issue of Social Urban Inequality. This task has been increasingly oriented on the grounds of empirical evidence of residential differentiation in cities. In this matter factorial analysis, as a powerful multi-dimensional technique. has contributed to the great expansion of this kind of research. Here the authors present the results of a comparative factor ecological analysis of Bilbao and Vitoria-Gasteiz. The main objective of this is the study of possible coincident factors of differentiation in both cities, but also, this is an attempt to contribute to the advance of empirical research in the development of well-supported theories in Urban Sociology.
