Abstract

The purpose of this article is to do a review on theconcept of Body Image and in which way its distortionmakes people feel upset with themselves, especially inassociation with eating disorders. The body image dis-tortion is a nuclear concept in this pathology diagnosisand it is very important in its genesis and in its evolution,too. Also, it seems that the treatment based only on cli-nical symptoms of eating disorders don ́t modify the per-ception that the patients has on its own body. So this factbecomes a risky factor that leads to relapses. Going onwith this issue, we propose several interventions used inthe treatment, once the disorder has been settled and inthe prevention, too.
