Abstract

This article exposes the process of the current Law of Social Services in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country in its different stages until its approval in December 2008, as well as, details its principles and aims oriented to the universalization of services and the advance in social justice. Next, it describes the participation of the social educators in the elaboration process and emphasizes the incorporation of these professional persons as the basic professional body of the Social Services and their task, the socio-educational intervention (Social Education) as a service in its practical application and as a provision in a large part of the services, highlighting, also, the essence of the elements of the socio-educational tradition, in large part of the intentions and literature of the law. It also details the collaborative work carried out to monitor and propose improvements in the implementation of services, presenting the work developed by the inter-institutional professional group (professional association / university), to end by emphasizing the importance of forming a stable coordinated relationship between the agents involved in an "institutional triangle" to contribute to advance optimal development in coparticpacion of the Basque System of Social Services.
