Abstract

One of the most important aspects in teaching and learning mathematics is students´ motivation. Therefore, this article describes the implementation of a mathematics gymkhana in a class of 5th in Primary School, and its influence in students’ motivation. The propose of the experience was to practice exercises related with mathematical contents studied during the term, but taking advantage from the benefits that gamification of playing games offers; a game, in this case, a treasure hunt: the resolution of each step gives a new puzzle piece for the final set up of an artistic work. The implementation shows that student’s motivation and implication increased during the realization of the task
