Resumen

El presente artículo tiene por objeto hacer una breve revisión teórica de los estudios que se ocupan del potencial didáctico de la novela gráfica para la enseñanza y aprendizaje de la historia. Para ello, primero se estudia la evolución de las investigaciones más relevantes sobre el valor educativo de los cómics en los Estados Unidos desde la década de los cuarenta hasta los años noventa del siglo pasado, principalmente en el campo de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de lenguas. Posteriormente, se analizan algunos de los últimos estudios publicados en los Estados Unidos sobre la utilidad del cómic como recurso didáctico en las clases de historia. Se trata de un marco teórico para comprender cómo implementar las novelas gráficas en el aula de historia.
