Abstract

Blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome is a rare entity characterized by the presence of multiple hemangiomas located in the skin and other organs, especially in the gastrointestinal tract. This syndrome usually manifests as occult or over gastrointestinal hemorrhage, with anemia secondary to blood loss. We present the case of a man with anemia due to blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome. The patient also showed splenoportal thrombosis and splenic infarction. We have found no other publications in the literature reporting this association.
