Abstract
In September 1936 the town of Irun fell to Franco´s troops. As many people from Irun did, city architect Luis Vallet de Montano escaped with his family to Hendaye, in France. During his exile, he was removed from his post, as well as disabled by the new General Directorate of Architecture. The administrative reparation would not come till the Royal Decree-Law 10/1976 was enacted, granting amnesty for all the political offenses. This case shows how victors of the Spanish war cleared out local administration.
