Abstract
In this edition of the magazine, Leire Díaz de Gereñu reflects on current-day storytelling, taking as her basis numerous pieces of research conducted into public storytelling with fun and aesthetic aims. She says, "all societies have had storytellers who have been featured as storytellers," and "there was a time when it was more common than today for anyone to act as a storyteller at a specific moment". But the most skilled ones were invited on special days of the year: during cornhusking, the slaughter of the pig, Christmas Eve vigils. However, due to changes in the sociocultural features of today's society, storytellers make their appearance during leisure events known as story-telling, story telling sessions have brought about the remodelling of a type of communication sharing regarded as having died out.
