Abstract
The study of teacher professional identity has become over the last two decades on a framework for Higher Education (HE). This article presents a review of the scientific literature on this field of study. Among other things, key elements that are present in the construction and identity change of university teachers and clarify what is supposed to be now university faculty are identified. It concludes with a proposal of measures aimedat supporting an identity transformation that drives change in the ES.
