Resumen
In the first part of this article (BAT- Soziolinguistika Aldizkaria No.11) there was a summary and a commentary of the main structure and ideas exposed in three papers -1983’s and 1993’s done by The Basque Government Advice Committee for the Basque Language (EAB), and 1993’s by The Catalan Government Social Language Committee- on language policy in the Basque Country and in Catalunya. This second part attempts an assessment based on their comparison. To do this, we will take EAB-93’s report, quite significant in our opinion, and we will follow the same chapter layout as in the report. Apart from this we include some general considerations in the beginning and some conclusions at the end. Finally, we would like to remark that this article is by no means exhaustive, we have concentrated in what we considered most interesting. However, the report does have some other points which would deserve further research.
