Laburpena
Three documents dealing with basic proposals to establish an official language policy are analyzed and compared in this section. These are: “Basis for the Basque Language Policy” (“Euskara Politikarako Oinarriak”) and “Basic Criteria for the Basque Language Policy” (“Euskararen Politikarako Oinarrizko Irizpideak”), both worked out by The Basque Government Advice Committee for the Basque Language in 1983 and 1993, respectively; and “A General Plan for Language Normalization” (“Plan General de Normalització Llinguistica”) done by The Catalan Government Social Language Committee” in 1993. The author promises a sequel to this article, to be published in the next issue, where he dicusses these three documents.
