Resumen

The issue of economic growth often has been understood as prosperity and the link between the public expenditure and growth has been considered successful if their relation-ship is positive. In that sense, the literature has focused on identifying the factors that generate the economic growth. However, recently, the strategy of degrowth has appeared as an alternative of the paradigm of economic growth. So, the aim of this paper is to present a short collection of the most relevant contributions about the growth theory since Adam Smith.
