Abstract
The republicans of Bilbao, like those in the rest of Spain, created a specific symbolic corpus, setting up a calendar of commemorations as an alternative to that established by the regime of the Restoration: from the anniversary of the I Republic (11 February) to the commemoration of the lifting of the siege of Bilbao (2 May).
