Abstract
From the moment of Antonio de Trueba’s death in 1889, the township wished to preserve the memory of one of its most read and beloved writers. Over the years tributes and celebrations were held with the participation of important personalities of the XIX and XX centuries: Juan E. Delmas, José María de Lizana, Carmelo de Echegaray, Miguel de Unamuno, Juan José de Lecanda and Alfredo Laffitte, amongst others. The article analyzes the shaping of a space to the memory of Antonio de Trueba in the township of Bilbao.
