Abstract

During the excavation of the site of Askondo (Mañaria, Bizkaia) in 2011 several microvertebrate remains were found. Micromammal species are represented in the site by nine rodents and two insectivores, the reptilians by two saurians and one ophidian and the amphibians by three anurans. The microvertebrate assemblage indicates a humid temperate climate in the youngest levels (1, 2 and 3) and in the oldest ones (12 and 13), with an important development of forest.
