Abstract
The aim of this work is to study big mammal fauna from the cave of Askondo. It is a site basically occupied by cave bears during the Middle Paleolithic. Moreover there are findings of ungulates consumed by humans that correspond to sporadic occupation by hunters during Upper Paleolithic. In addition a small sample of domestic species associated to funeral uses inside the cave has also been inspected. Remains have been studied under the archaeozoological point of view in order to differentiate if the sample has a human or natural origin.
