Resumen
In proportional terms, Vitoria-Gasteiz saw the biggest growth in Europe in the 1950-1975 period. The people who arrived in the city at that time were mostly non-Basque speakers while Basque speakers were in the minority. Three things: the Franco dictatorship, the new sociocultural reality and the start of the flowering of Basque became intermingled in Vitoria-Gasteiz at that time. So by means of a qualitative methodology, this piece of research has set out to gather the testimonies of Basque speakers who had originally come from Basque-speaking towns. The research seeks to report on the situation and events at that time, to get to know the evolution that has taken place over these years and to analyse the challenges we may be faced with in the future.
