Resumen
The general aim was to estimate the diet quality achieved by different ungulates, on supraforestal pasturelands of Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park during summer 1991. Faecal nitrogen content was estimated in cattle, sheep, goats, horses and isard (Rupicapra pyrenaica), which were distributed on two distinct sectors (Sesa and Goriz) and grouped in 11 herds. Faecal nitrogen data of ungulates were statistically analysed: i) for comparison among species, grouping the herds of each species, ii) by comparison between the two sectors. Similarly, body weight and grazing time were related to nitrogen content of faeces In general, the faecal nitrogen content is different between species, although this was not significant between cattle and goats. A significant difference of faecal nitrogen content has been found between the two sectors, being lower those of Sesa (except in isard). There is a significant linear relation between body weight and faecal nitrogen of ungulates, and a non-significant linear relation between grazing time and nitrogen content in faeces.
