Actitudes hacia el tratamiento obligatorio con neurolépticos en pacientes ambulatorios con esquizofrenia

Resumen

Dos consideraciones: Cuando se aprobó la Ley de Salud española (Ley 14/1986 25 de abril), se incluyeron los Principios de Salud Mental para evitar el establecimiento de una ley específica de Salud Mental que fue considerada estigmatizante por los profesionales. Más tarde, se extendió la legislación de medicamentos a pacientes ambulatorios obligatorios para los enfermos mentales, especialmente para aquellos con síndromes psicóticos, lo que fue aceptado en el Código Penal Civil (artículo 105, 1-a).Esto provocó algunas controversias debido a las dificultades en el manejo de los efectos secundarios relacionados con la administración de neurolépticos de acción prolongada. El gran impacto que causaron algunos incidentes criminales terribles cometidos por pacientes psiquiátricos a principios de 2012 provocó un debate acalorado entre los profesionales de salud pública y mental. Esto llevó a una discusión formal entre ellos que fue cuidadosamente documentada por los autores. Anteriormente (en 1986), habíamos explorado las actitudes de la población de Bizkaia hacia el uso terapéutico de los neurolépticos con un cuestionario Likert. Como actualización de aquella encuesta, hemos realizado un nuevo estudio para volver a analizar la situación actual. Encontramos diferencias significativas en las actitudes hacia los neurolépticos en las poblaciones estudiadas, y se detectó alguna evolución en los prejuicios que anteriormente se detectaron hacia los mismos. Estos datos nos llevan a proponer algunas acciones que influyen en las decisiones relativas a la política de administración de dichos neurolépticos.
