La motivación para las matemáticas en la ESO. Un estudio sobre las diferencias en función del curso y del sexo

Resumen

It is known the importance of motivation in education; the present research examines this construct in math classroom of Secondary School. To this end, it have been studied the variations of motivation in terms of the academic year and sex. The sample used consists of 631 students from 8th, 9th and 10th grades. The measurement tool is comprised of a self-report questionnaire based on the expectancy-value model of Eccles et al. (1983) and adapted for maths learning. The results indicate a moderate tendency to increase the motivation from 8th to 9th grades and a stagnation from 9th to 10th. As for gender differences, it have been found weak variations in self-efficacy in favor of boys.
