Abstract
Opponents of Basque nationalism mobilize quite a rainge of representations, symbols and arguments, and develop an imagery that associates the Basque ethnicity, the past, tradition, the private sphere, specificity and nature. These associations, which refer to ethnicity, culture and the Basque language, are intended to stigmatize and delegitimize Basque nationalism considered as synonymous to community withdrawal and secrecy.
