Abstract
Open Innovation (OI) has progressively become a benchmark for innovation practices, and has also emerged as a hot topic for academic debate, as it implies a deep change in the business model, in systems and mechanisms, practices, and in general, in the mentality of companies that decide to adopt it. This paper presents a conceptual framework that reflects the process and practices of Open Innovation (OI). To this end, for each aspect considered the concept, practices and the process towards OI first, a critical analysis of the existing literature was made to subsequently integrate the concepts proposed into a synthetic structure, intended to be enlightening and contribute to advancing research in this field.
