Résumé
El concepto de atención es muy común en psicología del deporte. Sin embargo, esto no significa que esté bien definido, ni que los procedimientos de evaluación y entrenamiento de las habilidades atencionales utilizadas habitualmente en el ámbito del deporte se hayan sometido siempre a evaluaciones conceptuales y empíricas. El propósito de este artículo es revisar los trabajos de investigación sobre las habilidades atencionales en el deporte y resumir brevemente el conocimiento científico disponible sobre el análisis de los procesos atencionales y la eficacia de los procedimientos que se han propuesto para mejorar las habilidades atencionales y de concentración de los deportistas. La parte final del artículo explora algunas nuevas direcciones en la investigación en este campo que podrían resultar fructíferas.
